For your convenience, our most common customer questions are answered right here. Not finding what you want? Reach out directly through our Contact Us page.
Do you offer Trail rides, Birthday parties, or pony rides?
No, we do not offer these services at this time as we do not have the facilities to do so.
At what age can my child start riding lessons?
We suggest that children be at least 5 years of age for riding lessons. However, it does depend on the child and the dedication of the parent(s) so we may accept younger children. Children MUST be able to follow directions and focus on a task for an extended period of time. Horses can be unpredictable, so we have the safety of all our riders in mind when accepting students for lessons.
How do I sign up for lessons? Can I take a group lesson?
To sign up for a lesson call us at (336) 509-2954 or use the Contact Form on this site. Provide as much information about your riding experience and goals as possible. As a new rider to our farm, we will always start with private lessons to assess your experience. If it is appropriate, you may be placed in a group (semi-private) of usually no more than 2-3 riders. There are times of the year when our lesson schedule is very full and you may be asked to be on a wait list. The time on the wait list is often only a few weeks before we can accept a new student.
What equipment do I need to have for my riding lesson?
It is important to wear a boot with a heel to ride. These do not need to be riding boots, but something as close as possible. We occasionally have extra equipment that other riders have grown out of, and there are stores in the area that have used boots available for purchase. For the rider’s comfort it is best to wear long pants (such as a riding breech) or jeans. We provide ASTM/SEI certified helmets for all riders and all other tack and equipment.
Do you have pasture board available?
No, we offer stall boarding only with plenty of turnout. Please contact us for availability and prices.
Do you offer lessons in the winter?
Yes, we ride year-round, weather permitting.
